The Winch Choker Chain Forestry Logging Exterior Accessories may seem like a practical addition for automotive work, but based on our own experience, it was a complete waste of money. While the concept seems useful, the execution was lacking. The chain was too small for heavy-duty use and the clasps were flimsy, making it unsafe for any serious work. While we appreciate the attempt to provide a forestry logging accessory, this product misses the mark.

It's a simple device but it works great! I use a long, straight metal spike to get under the tree trunk, pull the chain through, and then hang it on the red hook. The chain is taut and does not slip. I use it in combination with a 5000lb winch from the store that rhymes with "Larber grid".

I needed a larger chain to haul heavy oak logs after snapping an old 5/16 chain that almost hit the back of my head. This thing turned out to be a monster. I have other 3/8 chains that I'm sure are at least 70 if not 80. It makes them feel small and the hook is a beast too. You need a few bends in your feelers so when you stick them under the logs they stick out and it took me a hell of a time to bend these with a 3 pound sled. Really strong steel. I will definitely buy a few more of these…
