I like the big dial, though.

would not snap into the pan and stay. Maybe this is for large restaurant pans? It said my chocolate had reached such a temperature that it stopped boiling. it has never been difficult. Was a waste of time.

Pros
  • Many positive emotions
Cons
  • So-so

Good clinical thermometer. Weak clip.

The clip is a little flimsy so it often falls off the pot when I attach it to my grill. The thermometer works well but I wish they had a stronger clip on it.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Seniors

Calibration required

Sturdy construction except for the small red marker on the dial which fell off on the first movement. The temperature gauge was about 20 degrees lower than it should be for boiling water. Followed the calibration instructions provided online (there aren't any on the box 😕) and everything seems to be working fine now.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long shipping

Very nice thermometer

I only use this thermometer once a year and it's Christmas time when I do my usual large batch of Christmas candy to give away. I make everything from peanut bundles to horrible milk caramel to peanut crumbs, so I stand in front of the stove in the kitchen for days. A good, accurate thermometer is the key to caramel and brittleness, one mistake and the whole batch is ruined. A few years ago I ran into some problems that I could never solve and I actually stopped making candy for a couple of…

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Hard to say
