Description of 🔪 Yoshihiro VG-10 16-Layer Hammered Damascus Stainless Steel Nakiri Vegetable Knife - 6.5-inch (165mm)

Forged and hammered with 16 layers of steel in the Damascus tradition with a VG-10 Core, the VG-10 Hammered Damascus Series has been a perennial best seller, combining performance, beauty, and extraordinary v. One of the most popular knives that a cook can have today is a Japanese Vegetable knife known as a Nakiri knife. The Nakiri is a Japanese double edged knife with a flat cutting edge. The flatness allows for the whole length of the knife to come in contact with the cutting board with each stroke. This is particularly helpful when chopping vegetables since it eliminates those imperfect cuts in which ingredients are hanging by a string. Reminiscent of a small cleaver, this knife is cherished for its ability to chop through root vegetables to thinly slicing delicate tomatoes. From prepping greens for a salad to chopping vegetables for a main dish, the simplest of tasks are elevated with a handcrafted knife that is as beautiful as it is functional. Proudly made in Japan. This knife is complimented with a premium Western Style Handle that extends to the full tang of the knife and ergonomically welds to the hand for seamless use. The hammered texture of the blade eliminates friction and keeps food from sticking to the blade. Every knife from Yoshihiro is handcrafted by master artisans creating a unique one-of-a-kind work of art. Traditional Japanese knife making values a sharp edge, which requires attention and care. Sharpening and honing should be done with only water whetstones. Hand wash and dry only, and do so immediately if working with acidic ingredients. Do not use on objects such as bones, nutshells, and frozen foods. The Nakiri is a traditional Japanese vegetable knife and is great to have, especially, if you're a lover of soups, salads, herbs, and vegetables. It lends well to chopping and its thin and flat blade edge is designed to make full contact with your cutting surface for a full cut with less chance for vegetables to still be sticking together by a thread. 3 Layer construction with a VG-10 Japanese stainless steel center core with a HRC 60 for exceptional sharpness, edge retention, and durability with ease of sharpening. An elegant 16 layer hammered outer steel is a stylish yet functional design eliminating friction and keeping food from sticking to the blade. A premium Mahogany wood handle with a full tang for a well balanced construction for seamless use. Excellent for entry level chefs. Hand wash only and sharpen on quality whetstones. Comes ready to use out of the box. 100% handcrafted by skilled tradesmen in Japan. Not mass produced.

everyone sparkles and sparkles

The blade lies flat on the cutting surface, making it difficult to effectively rock the cutting motion. I'm not sure if it's actually a Damascus blade. The pattern appears to be etched into the surface at the edge of the blade and does not continue up the knife in any way. This knife sparkles and sparkles, it's not exactly what I was looking for.

Excellent after further processing

Very good quality blade. Very sharp out of the box. But the rim is thin and easily damaged - not for those who like to toss knives in the dishwasher or on the dish rack. The only point of criticism is the roughness of the roller. Photos are included before, during and after some of the renovations. Sanded matt with 1000 grit sandpaper. Now that the raised parts and spiky edges are gone, it's gorgeous.

Sister and mother in law and everyone loves them. I recommend

Reliable performance and lifetime investment. You seriously ask why you didn't buy Yoshihiro steel in the beginning. I knew it. Unless you're a professional chef who sharpens your knife every day, you'll never have to buy another knife again. Get the whole set and you're done. I have a family that uses these blades; my brother, my sister and my mother in law and everyone loves them. I highly recommend!

Best stitch for real damascus paring knife vg10

Amazing knife so sharp so beautiful and so highly polished I'm afraid to use it lol. Laser engraved knives, some of them are in a similar price range with great reviews so be careful, do your homework and check websites with fake reviews. ok since i'm right-handed. The only person I don't recommend a knife to is left-handed.

I bought this beautiful chef's knife in February

I bought this beautiful chef's knife in February. A few months later I accidentally left it in a sink full of water overnight. A hole formed in the blade from my confusion, as if seven small bites had been ripped from the blade. I called the company to find a cure and they couldn't be more sympathetic! They told me to send it to them to have it professionally sharpened and as it was so new there was no charge. The knife was sent back in less than a week. The damage I caused is undetectable…

Feel free to buy this knife!

This is my favorite knife in my whole collection! The rounded tip allows rocking, making it good for crushing and grinding rocks. It glides over shallots like nothing! I also have a Gyoto and a Petti in the same design, but I have to say that this Nikiri is the first knife I pull out of my pocket every day! It has been meticulously trained, sharpened daily on a whetstone and properly maintained. This knife stays sharper than any other knife in Disney's competitive kitchen. Don't miss this, if…

Blender bag best for kitchen and dining room

I bought this knife in February 2017. It is now almost October 2019. Since then this is the only knife I use for vegetables, so I can say that I have a lot of experience with it. The appearance of the knife is beautiful. The ergonomics are very good. Comfortable and functional thanks to the plucked handle. It cuts well out of the box and even better when fully polished. Takes a terribly sharp edge. I essentially sharpen it with a 90/10 right edge. Holds the edge for quite a while, with one very
