A combination of tools and fasteners!

Equipping the tool with a special tool holder is a great option. I've used these inserts in the past but never had the right tool and was forced to create a temporary tool. Good quality tool and I will use it again in the near future. Side dishes are fairly easy to find locally, but finding a tool is another challenge.

They don't like hard wood.

Used in black walnut. A few inserts I tried to install had the mortise notches torn off. I had to run an 8-32 bolt in with the nut running down the insert so I could turn the nut to get the torque to screw it in. Also, my mounting tip looks like the tabs have rounded after 20 black walnut uses. Love the concept, just wish they were more durable.

Very Impressive - Threaded Inserts

I wasn't sure if they would work when I bought them but I'm glad I did. I'm making a walnut table that I was planning to take apart and it works great. The wood I use is over 20 years old and very hard. I was concerned that the external threads would not cut cleanly or would require so much force that the wood might snap. I tested one installed on a piece of junk and was very impressed. This worked much better than I had hoped. Anytime I need hardwood inserts, these will be the ones.

Warning: poor quality

The stainless steel threaded inserts worked well and the power tool worked well. I would have preferred a hex drive to a flat drive, but it's my fault for not reading the description carefully enough. HOWEVER, the supplied drill was bent; it could not be used at all. I was a bit that size so it didn't stop me from using threaded inserts. If I hadn't used 4 out of 5 uses I would have sent the set back. In hindsight, I should have just bought individual hex inserts.

I used these on river table legs to set in VERY hard hickory. 25/64 bit was VERY comfortable. In some places I had to overclock to 13/32. I've found that a 1/2" stainless steel screw works best for driving into wood. Keep the special brand tool in case you get confused and need to pull one out. Brass inserts are very prone to chipping if used too often Torque on the EZ Lok Insertion Tool but the 1/2" 1/4" 20 screw came in well. Now that I know how to use it I would buy it again.

Easy to use durable materials

Bought to install the C profile and metal legs on a table I built, very happy with the purchase. I used to buy plain plywood thread inserts and was a bit hesitant to spend money on them, but so far they're worth it (and I'm giving "only" 4 stars because we'll see how they work). with time). You'll definitely understand why they're more expensive once you get your hands on them, and they're great for hardwood. I recommend buying a kit so you have the right size drill bit (I was honestly…
