Keeps my Duramax warm.

I use them for engine and transmission oil and they work great. We regularly see temperatures of -50 degrees in winter and I had no problems with their installation and connection this winter.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Hard to say

Works Great - Engines and Engine Parts

I put one on the oil pan of my diesel tractor. That works great. The tractor started at -10F this morning. Pretty easy to apply. Make sure you have enough flat space for your pillow size. For surface preparation, it makes sense to have a sander or disc sander.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Fire Hazard - Freezer Plug Type

This heater is a fire hazard. I installed it according to the instructions. When first used, after 5 minutes it started smoking, turned brown, the glue bubbled, the device detached from the metal surface. I disabled it and will never use it again! I will try the magnetic variant with a thermostat.

The product works. best in engines and engine parts

Heating pads work very well. They heat up the entire engine compartment in about 2 hours. I don't usually leave them on that long. The oil is hot and since I am using synthetic oil it is impossible to overheat the lube. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend the product.

Pros
  • Pleasing
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Shorted out after 2 months

I've had good luck with other Wolverine heaters in the past and assumed it would be the same. It installs easily and works great for 2 months of occasional use. Then something shorted out in the heating pad. Unfortunately I bought it a year ago and due to the weather and a shoulder injury I only had time to fit it so the warranty has expired.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Melted in for plug type

Used less than a year, mounted on the bottom of the oil pan. The bezel has been correctly set to the ground metal and the edges sealed with safe RTV Temp sealant. I walked to my truck one morning and smelled of smoke/burning. Ambient temperature was -25Β°F (Fairbanks, Alaska). The truck was connected to the network via a timer for the night, which turned on and off alternately. After removing this pad, I was able to puncture it with my finger. I would suggest buying a more reputable brand which…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Safety
