Very nice finish, looks well built and solid. Long enough for the largest bike, replacing a broken rear brake cable with this one on my 20" kids bike was no problem. Came as a set of ten cables with crimp ends. I pressed them in place with wire cutters. Even needle nose pliers can do this. Recommend every family keep a set in a bike tool bag.

These will fit most brakes on most bikes and most rear derailleurs. In order to mount a rear rack on my touring bike, I had to replace a short cable on the rear cantilever brake. These brake cables are of very high quality and incredibly cheap. I verified that it was zinc plated carbon steel using an XRF analyzer which found zinc and iron but no chromium. That's a great price. They work very well and are great value. Only one noticed that they dropped from 5 to 4 stars. When installing one of the cables, I noticed that the wires were burned out or blackened near the barrel. A few wires snapped and came loose as if weak at the moment. Compared to cords from the local $5 each, this is great value. They are magnetic so if they are stainless steel they are very inferior so look elsewhere this is what you need. For the price you can't beat them. There may be a bit of mold slag/burr on the ends of the cable which is easy to remove hence deducting 1 star because it is not rust free (for the price I doubt they are rust free but they serve my needs well).
