I do not use this product for insulation, but it is technically possible. I have two skins (one in my quarantine tank and one in a bioactive tank). My LG loves spending time in this hideaway. My AFT loves using this fur when it sheds. Definitely recommend for cold/wet skin. You won't have too much trouble with LG or AFT shedding after getting this pelt. Just a reminder to spray it every day when using this coat on a wet coat.

I chose a large stone cave so my gecko has room to grow and I don't have to upgrade it later. It's quite big and heavy. My ball python is a crawler so this skin is perfect for him. He looks at me from this skin and asks for more rats. Sometimes I see that only his nose sticks out. This is a heavy coat but it is in 2 parts so it can be easily removed to check the animal's condition. The inside is smooth but not glazed. Outside and the ramp has a rough texture. My new (rescue species) ball python loves this stone! I put some bedding in it and now it's his favorite! One of the main advantages is how well it isolates itself.
