Ideal for primary heating in a reptile terrarium

For the primary heating of my 36 x 18 snake terrarium I have a 100 watt radiant heater on a thermostat. I then use the daylight lamp on the timer in coordination with this to provide UVA and UVB rays for my reptile's health and sleep cycle. When I first received it it had a small chip so I contacted Zoo Med and they told me it was cosmetic only and would have no effect or danger. Months have passed and it still works as it should. This lamp provides almost enough heat for the lowest level of my

The bearded dragons seem to be sleeping much more peacefully!

I've read various places on the internet that bearded dragons need darkness to sleep well. In addition, our 5-year-old bearded man sought out the darkness and fell asleep in it as soon as he was released from the enclosure. We've only recently had this radiant warmer, but when we check our beard before bed, it's sound asleep. This is a huge improvement. We literally had to take him out, swaddle him and keep him in the dark for him to fall asleep, then carefully bring him back into the enclosure

Gentle, gentler warmth

I have bought several of these ceramic heaters since I 'discovered' them at Revain. Not too intense, no light to distract or disturb, and effective. They promise a much longer service life than heat lamps. I use mine with a bowl reflector. The reflector dissipates heat well without heating itself. I live in central Texas so I don't need a lot of heat. So far I've used one as extra warmth for a small, older dog and to conduct heat to water lines in a camper van on the high plateau where…

Very hot. How hot.?

Make sure to use these with a secure lamp cover with a secure clip. Our lamp slipped and landed on pine shavings (an open headlight holder). Our chickens are still small enough to be kept in a rubber box in the kitchen, so there was an immediate smell of smoldering fire. Glad we were home at that time. It gets hot enough to form embers, and in a minute it's turned into a full-fledged campfire. ://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HGBC4U/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Our chickens are…

I EC, You EC, All EC EC

Turtles should have a roast option that doesn't end at sunset. People should have a light that ends when we lay our heads on the pillow. Meet the tool that meets both of our needs. Form and function are extremely simple. Using a high temperature device, this offers a heating option for reptiles and the like. As a note please note that this CHE is best placed in a location that is to one side of the tank/barn and can be raised or lowered to set the correct substrate level temperature. I say this

Very happy with it

The first CE I ordered actually had broken glass on the ceramic so I had to send it back. (The box was fine, so I think it's a manufacturer issue.) It actually worked, but after thinking about it, I worried about how it would affect my warranty. Fortunately, Revain is very easy to return. Anyway... It's really effective to get rid of the cold on the warm side of my tortoiseshell table. I also like that it works WITHOUT bright lights in my eyes. I live in an old house in Wisconsin and it gets…

Good for indoor heating, but not for heating.

I am a bit disappointed with this product. First, the first two I received had filament damage (the end of the filament was bent to one side, the filaments stuck together on one side, split on the opposite side) and they didn't fit in due to poor workmanship control or the manufacturer's packaging screwed the bracket. Luckily, Revain returns are hassle-free, and thanks to first class shipping, the whole process from the first lamp to the third took just a few days. When I finally had a working…

Loophole Heat - Reptiles and Amphibians

I worked in a building where astronomical amounts were being spent on geothermal heating. Well, geothermal isn't showing the promised return on investment, so those in power decided that we would definitely show the savings. How you do that? Very simple: lower the thermostat in winter and raise it in summer. We save money no matter how cold/hot it is in this building. What are those people doing? Of course, break out personal heaters. Well, it's not allowed and you don't want to get caught…
