I don't think I've ever had a drive that felt this plasticky, but I think the metal is where it should be, at least I hope so. Comes in a basic box in a plastic shell. it arrived intact and was easy to set up. I needed it to transfer files between an old laptop and it worked fine in an external case. I was expecting the speed to be a bit faster than what I saw, but I was using a USB connection, so I can't say for sure about the maximum speed. The drive is pretty basic, nothing fancy, but good value, that's it. I'll have to see how it holds up, but so far I'm happy with it.

This is DRAM free so it doesn't get in the way. Although the performance is okay, I installed it on a Macbook Pro 13 2012 that I found the other day and it installed without any issues. It uses the SM2258XT controller, there are 2 NAND parts and the NAND appears to be Intel based on the number on the chips, at least after a quick google search. Works amazingly well. I have never seen or heard of this manufacturer but they seem to have gotten something right. When I saw the read and write speeds, I knew how to test them. I quickly hooked it up to my Atomos Ninja V and it recorded ProRes RAW with no issues. I had an extra SSD enclosure and used it to protect it.
