Use under supervision

3 stars. I ordered for a 3.5 year old who likes to "cook". Most people say it's very safe for kids, they can still cut themselves. This is a good knife for beginners but probably not suitable for older children. It doesn't really cut, so it slips off very easily and instead is more like a mush, so that cut happened. Please keep an eye on your little ones when using this all the time. Everything is OK.

Not sharp - great for game knives

We were given these for an online cooking course for children aged 6-9 and they are great for sawing back and forth but not sharp enough for anything else. Not so great. If you are looking for something safe for children and you don't have to watch them, this is perfect. If you want them to learn knife skills beyond sawing things, this isn't the best choice. Find a good square flat knife so they can practice. 2 stars. Great for toys. Too expensive for games.

Perfect for little helpers and young chefs

My kids love helping dad in the kitchen whenever possible and these knives give them even more ways to get involved. They are very easy to use when cooking with small hands, are dishwasher safe afterwards (unlike real dad knives), they are great learning aids for important kitchen skills and when the job is done my kids feel like they have accomplished something. especially after eating. My kids recently grilled ratatouille and before we knew it we had a little mountain of chopped veggies - and

The perfect gift for toddlers!

My 2.5 year old wants to be in the kitchen with me so I bought her something to help her cut up her snacks and also read that it helps her arms strengthen and harmonize (thanks, 7 Days of Play, for the link!). She loves them and they are easy to use and she does a great job with them and I have confidence that as she learns and develops and will not cut her hand because they are not sharp but they are still tough . and strong enough for a toddler to cut through food! Thanks very much! By the…

Great extra kitchen tool

I bought this to help my child learn about different types of food so I wanted something they could safely use to cut without hurting themselves. This is perfect for fruit, soft breads, avocados, muffins/cakes. To the point where I'd rather use it than a kitchen knife! You won't use it for things that require a more precise cut — slicing an onion or halving a tomato (you'll end up mashing them) or slicing a sushi roll — it needs something spicier. It is very easy to clean and there are no nooks

Safe but not very effective

Bought these knives for my daughter who loves to help out in the kitchen. We've tried them several times and they work well, but I don't like them. To cut them, you must first put a lot of effort. My daughter has a hard time lying down firmly enough or at the right angle to make a cut. I'm also worried that if she switches to a real knife, she'll keep her habit of pressing hard and could get hurt by the real knife. Second, they don't cut amazingly. I didn't expect them to work as well as my…

2 year old likes to cut himself

My 2 year old wanted to 'cut' himself every time we cooked food. We hold our knives up and away from him. But making something in the kitchen became more and more difficult because he also wanted a knife! He loves his knife! So far only the smallest one has been given to him. That's a good size for him. At first he wasn't strong enough to harm him. After a week of dedicated work with a knife, he mastered the skills of working with a knife. Pickles, apples, bread, tortillas, cheese, look, there…
