A set for double and bubble lightning!

I've been looking around for a kit that can make both twin and bubble rockets. I am restoring a 1967 Lotus Elan and replacing all the brake lines and hoses is a must for a car that has driven 40+ years. All manifold fittings require bladder flares and hose end connections require double flares. The kit is made in the USA, fits both, and costs less than $100. A win-win situation. It's easy to use and delivers great results.

Pros
  • GOLS Certificate
Cons
  • Interchangeability

Much better than the cheaper options

Kind of an embarrassing moment but I took a risk buying cheaper torch tools and the dies kept breaking and it took me a few tries to even get started making a torch because of the pipe slipped on. I finally decided to spend money on this tool precisely because the bubble punches looked more durable. The quality of this tool compared to cheaper ones is not even discussed. A guide was also included. I only had to flash twice, so I can't comment on durability yet. However, I was able to do both…

Durable and strong. No problem with brake line repair

I bought this to replace part of the brake line on a friend's car. I've never done this task before (and never flared tubes before). I repaired a broken brake line by replacing a piece of NAPA's already flared and installed hose and using this kit. The instruments seemed to be very durable. I had no trouble using anything from the kit. It is a tedious work to make the bell as beautiful as possible, especially when it is under a car with a jack and no lift. Overall the repair went smoothly and…

Worked well and never let me down.

I used this to repair the fuel lines on the car and it worked very well. I'm sure there are easier tools to use but they don't come close to this price. I was particularly disappointed that the nuts on the other flare tool clicked when I first turned them with a screwdriver. It has really strong wing nuts and I was able to tighten them every time. And since I was new to flaring and had to practice and work through some issues with the wrong adjustments, I did about 50 flarings in a very short…

Wow, a well made instrument that is just a dream come true.

After struggling with my Harbor Freight Flaring Tool, I took the plunge and bought this. It was a great decision as it just flares the tubes perfectly. I don't know what the other reviewers are saying wrong, I've never had center flare or any issues at all. I suspect an operator error caused other reviewers to give this item poor ratings. It's simply a well-made tool in a handy box. Even the box is better than expected, it has real hinge pins and no crappy plastic that breaks when you open and…

Great for 2004 Honda Civic EX Coupe: 1/4 " Flared Brake Lines

Great value copper alloy magnetic brake line spool. *Tip for beginners: take your time, work slowly and methodically, make sure you making sure you place the fittings on the lines BEFORE you flare/crimp them and that they are pointing in the right direction If you are new to the process, it doesn't hurt to cut a short length of brake hose and practice using a brake hose Flare tool to make some flared ends BEFORE you cut the long piece of brake hose and try on your first try. There is a trick to…
