Not the most ergonomic suction cup in the world and the button is a bit recessed, requires some attention when using. It does the trick though. The wick is just wicked, works great.

If you don't have a fat ball and try to make it smaller, this thing doesn't work very well. maybe it was user error, but the price and the included solder wick are worth it. Use the wick to remove anything the sucker can't and you're done.

I don't know what transparency is. But the star of the show is a sucker. The solder wick works as expected, but the suction cup really stole the show. Got this to troubleshoot while doing some electronics projects. Practice on the old board. I pulled out a few components just for practice and took a few minutes to master.

To be honest it's pretty cheap. Another confirmation that you get what you pay for. I want to give 4 stars but the quality just isn't good enough for this rating. The copper is too thin and the suction is not as strong as other suction cups. I will say that as a last resort you can probably get this to work. It's just not as fast or reliable as the others.

The suction tool is very powerful and very easy to use. I find it much better to use than a wick. I don't know the wick so I don't know how to use it properly. But the wick I used separated too much to even pick up the solder. I was surprised how small it is per wick roll. It's not too small, but if you're an avid soldering iron you can probably use them for a month.

I'm no pro when it comes to soldering so keep that in mind as you read. I was having trouble getting the solder suction cup to pick up solder from the board I was working on. I could feel the suction on my finger, but the solder didn't penetrate. Although I probably am. The solder wick worked very well for me. The solder picked up fairly quickly and worked well. When the wick is heated, the plastic roller may melt a little, but not much.

I was a little wary of the low price but I've done 40-50 desolderings since I've had this. I had an error when the spring failed. I had to take it apart (which needs to be done anyway to clean it from time to time) and reattach it. The tip held up surprisingly well, so I'm happy with the product, especially for the price. The wick was just a welcome bonus. If you are on a budget I would recommend this sucker any day!

Haven't used braided wire yet but I use Austor solder so it should be good. The suction cup performed really well compared to the blue and silver ones that usually come with cheap irons and stations and it completely removed a lot of solder from the switch in one go.
