Bilstein doesn't care.

from 5 years ago and it failed completely. I tried to contact Bilstein to claim the lifetime warranty but they refused stating it was probably caused by rust. The Monroes in the foreground, which I used to think were disposable, lasted 6 years and the factory 10 years. Nice shock while it lasts but don't expect them to be behind it in the first place.

Pros

Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

My mechanic (and friend) recommends KYB (Japan) and Bilstein (Germany) shock absorbers. Apparently my Tacoma came with KYB shocks from the factory. The reviews said I should go with KYB if I want Original Equipment dampers. If you need a stronger shock absorber, go for Bilstein. I chose Bilstein. You are wonderful! Compared to KYBs, Bilsteins are a little springier when not being towed, but when loaded, Bilsteins are better. For me, the tighter (but still controlled) Bilstein handling doesn't…
