Premium Cable Modem

I bought this cable modem because it was one of two Cisco models approved by my cable provider. All my network gear is Linksys/Cisco. The device was easy to set up, worked perfectly with the advertised speed of incoming and outgoing traffic, the connection never dropped. I figured at that price I could own my modem in three months, including the modem fee provided by the ISP. This modem is DOCSIS 3.0 certified, has USB and Ethernet connectivity and comes with an external power adapter. If you…

Works well with mediacom

After researching my modem rental waiver, I found that this DPC3000 model is Mediacom's most widely available Docsis 3.0 modem and has fairly broad support and one for 40 US -dollar used by Amazon decided to jump on it. Changed painlessly while working fine. If it breaks I'll definitely update the review, but so far so good. How to swap modems on mediacom When you connect a new modem, it may take a bit of persuasion and you might encounter invalid security issues. However, certificates that you

Ideal modem to use with Comcast

I bought this modem to avoid paying "rent" from Comcast and I'm very glad I did. It works great, syncs with Comcast and activates instantly without a support call. Very fast! I more than doubled my speed by switching from a rented standard surfboard modem to this one. I went from 11MB down and 2MB up to 26-30MB down and 5MB up! Absolutely no complaints! We look forward to reaping the long-term benefits: no modem rental fees and faster connection. I highly recommend THIS particular modem for…

Goodbye Cogeco, thanks Cisco!

I'm Canadian first. I bought it because it's the only Docsis 3 Cogeco that allows using a 3rd party internet client in my region. I read below that someone had trouble as there are no instructions. You connect the cable line. You connect the ethernet to either a router or a computer. You connect the power supply. You provide your serial number and Mac address (on the bottom of the modem and on the box). You plug it into your system and voila, you have internet. You can download the user guide…

Works with Time Warner ROAD RUNNER

This modem has been installed on the Time Warner Road Runner network in central North Carolina for a few weeks now. NO PROBLEM, works as it should. I keep getting 30Mbps and 5Mbps that I bought for the service. When I bought this modem I was looking for a bridge modem with no built in features, I have an existing network and didn't want to make any changes to it (if it works don't fix it); This device meets all requirements. It has very few features, a simple configuration web page that lets…

Cisco Cable Modem for Modems

When purchasing a replacement cable modem, make sure the modem model and make are approved by your service department. It was the correct model and brand, but the BIOS was not recognized by Comcrap. At least the seller acknowledged my problem and refunded the money for the purchase.

  • Very Good Value
Cons
  • Annoyed

What a disappointment and a waste of money and time

What a disappointment and a waste of money and time. I ordered this cable modem to replace the one I currently rent. The modem I received didn't work and probably didn't work for the last customer tricked into buying it. And remember that the return shipping costs are entirely yours. Don't waste your time with this company. They don't even test these modems.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • No instructions

Works well with my Comcast service

A while ago Comcast upgraded my scope to Docsis 3.x so I have the correct router. I get 4 downlink and 2 uplink connections. And when I subscribed to "Blast" I got almost 100 Mbit/s. Throttling --- Enough to watch two or more shows simultaneously through Netflix. Perhaps Docsis 3.0 can still reduce the latency of a large, short data packet with link aggregation.

Pros
  • Crossing my fingers
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly

works great with Cablevision in Long Island, NY.

Personally I'd like the newer model Cisco DPC3008, but Cablevision in Long Island, NY has a limited list of supported modems and it's one of a few that I could actually buy more of, as most of them are replaced by newer models. but they don't support them. As I found out in other cases when it's not in the supported list. this may or may not work. Of all the brands listed, this is the only brand that meets the criteria of a company I trust. The nice thing is I wasn't able to install it…
