These pliers are a great part for those who often work with fancy hardware. I just want me to think about it. Modified wire stripper design that works great. Two thumbs up from me! !

This set of pliers does exactly what it was designed to do. Works great on large overhead lines with push-lock disconnects. I was able to test them out in my shop because they are the same set sold in a tool cart and a colleague took them out of the truck. If you work with air brakes on a regular basis, you should have these.

Slight disappointment with the AMAZING grip required to achieve desired separation. Sometimes they require a two-fisted grip to function. In this case, there simply must be some improved technical solutions. (Hint - I wouldn't mind a ratcheting operation which might help them work well with one hand.)

If you are a heavy duty truck mechanic I cannot recommend them highly enough. In many hard-to-reach places, it is not possible to press the trigger and pull the airline with both hands at the same time. Customer service was excellent, my set came with 2 double pairs of pliers, they sent me the correct pair straight away. and postage to send another one back.

The husband said he needed this tool to use to remove plastic air ducts on trailers. Unfortunately, this tool kept slipping and did not serve the sole purpose of this purchase. I even tried watching the informational DVD that came with it, but it kept skipping, unable to watch. Needless to say it wasn't worth the money.

If you are working on air brake vehicles this will save you a lot of air line problems. As other reviewers have said, sometimes they don't work on the first try. If the end doesn't hold, use the fingers of your free hand to apply a little pressure where it's pinched. If the quick release rings don't move, use pliers to rock them back and forth to loosen them. It's still better than trying to unscrew the wires with a wrench.

Professional heavy truck mechanic, I work a lot with air brake lines and fittings. I bought this set to help me with that. Angle pliers (black handles) work great and I'm very happy with them, 5 stars. However, straight pliers (with red handles) are junk, they don't grab pipes and are worse than useless, mostly junk. So do yourself a favor and buy the rectangular pliers separately and don't bother with this set.
