Waste of time to set it up properly

Don't waste time, just buy a separate clip for the amp. You'll spend more time getting it set up properly and up and running rather than buying a separate, standalone device.

Pros
  • Soft, non-slip, molded grip prevents accidental touching of live wires
Cons
  • Useless features

Not very accurate but still good.

It's definitely not an accurate device, but it's great for measuring the current drawn when the car starts, which is why I bought it. I don't need precision, just close. However, this is a random product that is expected to be exceptionally accurate.

Pros
  • Get accurate current readings without breaking the circuit
Cons
  • Nothing

Will not work with Fluke 87V meter

I was very disappointed with this purchase. I bought it for my electrical troubleshooting. I wanted to use it and it didn't work. I even tried it with another Fluke test tool. I need to return this item. I'll probably go with the Fluke clamp myself.

Pros
  • 1mA per amp output makes for easy reading on your meter
Cons
  • Modern

Expensive but cheaper than the alternative

This clamp works very well in combination with my flukemeter (I'm pretty sure ALL flukemeters do this as they measure voltage use for reading). DC clamps are very useful when troubleshooting battery powered 12/24V DC systems and are hard to find with reliable accuracy and calibration. The resolution is quite high for a clamp meter. This saves a significant amount of money as a standalone product compared to an overhead unit with a display. It's a bit bigger than I expected and with the usual…

Pros
  • Maximum conductor diameter 20mm, CAT III 600V safety
Cons
  • Update available

Well done and does the job

Great probe once you learn how to use it. mA, not A. This is stated pretty clearly in the instructions, so it's fine. Note. You cannot fix the power cord with a clamp and take a measurement. Why? Because the AC signal essentially goes through the hot wire and out the neutral wire and the two signals cancel each other out. You just have to put the amp clamp around the hot wire (or neutral if it's connected correctly, but it should actually be hot). If you don't have an open wall or panel this…

Pros
  • Companion to your 400A AC DMM
Cons
  • Doubtful
