Makes work easier

It's such a relief! I really don't like screw and screw diver holes for strings from scratch. I always skip and make marks on the wooden wall. Not with this screw starter. Easy to handle and use. Finds that work will go faster. Less pain in arms later.

  • Special offer
Cons
  • Can hurt

The handle and metal starter screw are offset

Well built and it would be great if the metal starter screw went right into the plastic handle. Suggest you look at another brand instead of risking a defective product. Kudos to Revain; They quickly returned my purchase.

Must have tool in hand tools

Great little tool, I had one and a friend of mine saw it and wanted one so got a pair to give for Christmas. They are well made, make the drill for starting the screws and other things. I like it. Check stores in Oberlin, Watson Hardware, Ace Hardware and Home Deport, they knew about this tool but didn't sell it. Thank you again Revain for the variety of quality products.

Pros
  • Great for me

Good tool but the handle could be thicker.

Good tool but the handle could have a larger diameter to offer a bit more torque. Apart from that it works fine. I really ping the handle, but I have an old golf ball screw starter that tapers down to the tool's metal shaft. I've always found it well made and well designed. still do Buy the Great Neck Tool; I don't think you will be disappointed.

  • Dope 🔥

Not the best design

My Great Neck screw starter came with a slightly different grip, black and red (not clear and red). The tip of this tool isn't very sharp so you really need an awl to make the indentation first or it will never bite. What's really bad is that the threads of the screws are spaced apart like a machine screw and not like a wood screw. They are too close together so don't bite the wood unless you give them a long spin. Finally, when you insert the item into the wood and then unscrew it, the hole…

Pros
  • Something about it
Cons
  • Minor issues

Worth a Try: Power & Hand Tools

I'm genuinely surprised by reviews of this tool "making it easier" to do the job or a convenient substitute for a drill. The end of the screw is a little blunt compared to other hole punches, and the handle is relatively thin and made out of hard (and slippery) plastic. But if you're strong and persistent, and if you're screwing into a somewhat soft and porous surface, and if you're wearing a pair of non-slip rubber gloves, this is a potentially useful tool to start with. But this is anything…

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
