As other reviewers said, the pen is black. And it's a bit shorter than I would have liked, but I don't use a pen to scratch metal, so I don't care. Schilo works great. No problem with that at all.

This is a well built, durable and functional Kratfigure. This is the most inexpensive woodworking awl required of a carpenter. The cheaper awls are made of thinner metal that is more intended for crafts, sewing, etc. This is a real Mc Coy and a great price so 5 stars.

Item does not look as pictured. I ordered the product because I need a clear and red pen. As this was one of the main reasons I bought this item I am not happy that I received it with a black handle. The description also states that the pen is clean. Nowhere does it say that the color can vary.

I like to use them and keep them in my tool box and I think they should be paid for. I appreciate being able to research them properly before buying, as opposed to those who like to just pop out of other people's tool bags. I think just letting people take the awl out of the tool bag has little to do with getting paid, and if I were asked to give a paying customer an inexpensive tool, I might or might not do it.
