185°C low extruder temperature Best

With Standard Hatchbox PLA, an extruder temperature of 215°C works best for me. Look at the picture: I started at 215°C, lowered to 200°C and then to 190°C, everything looked fine. I finally settled on 185°C and everything works great! By the way, at 215°C it smelled like burnt sawdust. It wasn't a strong smell and I don't know if I was blind or not, but at a lower temperature I can't smell it.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities

  • Not sure

Poor adhesion to print bed

I thought it was too good to be true and guess what it is. This allows you to create a 3D part with some effort. Is it a durable material but doesn't require a heated bed? Come on. I tried playing around with some suggestions in the comments but after 3-4 failed prints I gave up. The material does not stick to the bed, neither cold nor warm. I expected better, I've never had to use glue on a print bed for any type of print and I won't start now. One+, I personally like the smell it gives off…

Beautiful yarn, albeit less woody than the original

I use a bunch of regular Hatchbox wood, so I was dying to try the new colors when they came out recently. First, bad - by all accounts, brown is much, much more pliable and less woody than original Hatchbox wood filament (which closely resembles raw wood and is indistinguishable from natural wood after sanding, staining, and finishing). Unlike their regular wood filament, once printed it has a kind of hard glaze that sands away with little effort revealing something close to the texture of the…
