Well made and works great

Several reviewers said they received a counterfeit Knipex tool. The pen should say "Made in Germany". There are other single-ended pliers on the market that will work, but note that the Knipex pliers offer end and side clamping and the head size of these pliers is small enough to get in. Bottlenecks that are typical of an engine compartment where you will use this tool

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Not the best

Great tool for the price

The quality of the Knipex has not disappointed me yet. If you want a snug fit and the look of pinched pipes, ear clamps are the way to go. To get around you can definitely use pliers in a pinch, but that's the best way. The teeth are spaced far enough apart that you don't accidentally cut all the way through the yoke. They also have a row of teeth on the side that really help in those hard-to-reach places. Would definitely buy again.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Only available in white

German quality tool, no Chinese junk.

Excellent product. Well made and reliable Sherman tool. I use it on individual ear clamps for irrigation tubing and it works great. You can pinch your ear without breaking it like my pex tool did. I'm not sure I'll use it for rubber, but for a regular hose clamp it couldn't be better. The side clip is also a great idea that works. I would also 100% recommend this German quality, it's not cheap Chinese junk, it's a quality instrument.

  • Satisfied so far

Needed when oetiker clamps are simply necessary

With oetiker clamps there is no substitute for clamps. I figured I could get away with using needle nose and grooved pliers, aka water pump pliers, adjustable pliers, tongue and groove pliers, elbow pliers, multi-grippers, faucet or pipe wrenches, gland pliers, and channel locks (e.g. Channellock). branded pliers) but I was able to achieve the proper sharp clamp required with Oetiker style clamps. I prefer models with front and side clips for tight spaces.

I never knew what it was like to fight with disposable boot clips.

is enough because I bought these clamp pliers before I tried them! bought these to change tie rod boots and it was easy! if you are thinking about getting the front and side version or just the front style; Take the front and side, it's wide enough to clip the full width of boots and the side is great when you're not ready to crawl under the car or when there isn't access to the clip from below and you have to grab from the bottom side to clamp the boot.

  • Impressive

Works much better than other types

They are vastly superior to other types of crimping/crimping pliers with an odd sliding pivot point. They let me crimp the "ear-like" CV-joint clamps I was struggling with. I wish they were a little longer for more leverage. With large CV terminals, it is difficult to fully crimp the last millimeter. So I'm deducting a star for versatility. They did their job and considering how well they performed compared to my last set I'm very happy with their performance. I recommend you don't try to save…

Good storage tool

Considering the price of this tool, it is convenient to carry with you. I had to replace the air intake hose with this type of clamp and tried pliers. It does not work. So I decided that instead of paying the local shop to install this hose, I would buy this tool to keep in my son's auto mechanic's box for future use. The small price is worth it. This set has both straight and side features. Something you might need in the future. Why pay someone a small fortune to do something you can do…

  • Unreliable

It worked great, better than expected!

I bought these to crimp fuel line clamps on a Mercury Optimax outboard when replacing all fuel lines. These pliers are a little more expensive than the standard pliers you can find for $12-15, but they are worth it. They appear to be of very good quality and the side crimp is invaluable for tight or confined spaces. I don't think I could have done the job without further disassembly of the motor housing if I had used standard pliers with no side lip. These things are great and your only regret…

Pros
  • For easy and secure installation of single and double eyelet clamps (Oetiker system or equivalent)
Cons
  • No instructions

I love these ear clamp pliers

They did quick work with 20-23mm and 14-17mm twin ear crimp terminals. The 20-23mm clamp on the garden hose was a bit stiffer than the 14-17mm clamp and the second ear had to be held on my hip with two hands. One thing you might notice when lifting your pliers: the edges of the side jaws. do not meet. It's as intended, according to the pictures on the KCTool website I've included. The red arrow points to the gap I mean. I used the front and side crimping dies and they both crimped. You might…

Pros
  • Universal use for clamps on CV cases, radiators and fuel lines, air systems, compressors
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Great price, overall good pliers with one downside.

I don't usually write reviews but these pliers were interesting so I thought I'd write a comment. Firstly, being able to buy any type of Knipex brand pliers at this price point is quite amazing. They look like any other Knipex tool you would use and they are way too high quality and it seems like you can really abuse them if you want to. In some situations there is a downside. When fitted with large CV shoes with large clamps (the suspension shoes on my Tacoma 13 in my experience) they lack the
