Interesting whetstones.

This kit came with no instructions or even a grit for a block with two larger grit. So let me say this is a set of water stones. You should soak them between ten minutes and an hour before use, and then keep adding water as you sharpen the blade. You bring your knife forward in sweeping semi-circular motions to sharpen it. An angle wedge is not included so you will need to estimate the angle you want (probably around 18 degrees but can vary from 12 to 24 degrees). Do two forward movements on…

I am fortunate to have professional kitchen knives and although they can be sharpened at home I always take them with me to sharpen. I bought this hoping to test out cheaper knives and scissors to see how my husband and I could do it ourselves. As an added benefit, we look forward to using this for other things like our yard and garden tools. Wow I love this whetstone set, just did a bit of research online and now all my homemade knives cut paper like the experts.
