Actual 0-150V

Just received and not yet tried with a load. It is well made and looks very solid. The small built in voltmeter is as accurate as you would expect from a small analog meter. The real catch is that at a nominal 120V input voltage, that variac range is 0-150V, not 0-130V as advertised. The problem is that the scale under the handle is marked 0-130V so the scale reading is nowhere near the actual output voltage. This is not a problem for me as I will be monitoring the output with a digital meter…

Exactly what I needed.

, I needed a Variac for circuit troubleshooting and it fits the bill - you can't beat the price, the performance was just what I needed, and it arrived quickly and well packaged, which is important when considering how heavy they are. I particularly liked the digital voltage display instead of the analog display. The first thing I did out of the box was benchmark the calibration and output with both a digital and analog voltmeter, and while it wasn't absolutely perfect, the product I got was…

Works as it should but.

It works exactly as it should, but do yourself a favor and ignore the scale/wheel at the top that shows the output voltage. This sensor is useless as it doesn't take into account the voltage from the source (your outlet). For example, if your input voltage varies from 114V to 123V, the output voltage will change for the same wheel position. So just use the front display, it's close enough. I measured the accuracy of the front LCD with a DMM and it changed a bit from time to time, but it was ok.
