WARNING TO COMCAST/NETGEAR USERS Nighthawk X4S DOCSIS 3.1

I can only say this about Comcast, I don't know if Cox or other ISPs have this issue. This modem/router has problems that Comcast cannot fix. Connection issues, lag, stuttering, huge errors, all on gigabit. I had Comcast to check all the cables in my house and I have a very good connection with almost no interference as I'm the only one connected to the mast. Worked with Netgear staff who only applied fixes based on small changes in settings. Communicating with Comcast and Netgear was a wasteโ€ฆ

COMCAST Customers Read Before Buying

I thought I would be smart to buy this modem with a new doc.sis and eliminate Comcast's monthly fee. It worked fine for about 2 months then lost the ability to connect to the internet. Problems: 1. Doesn't work with AT&T microcells, which we really need in our area (much better than Wi-Fi calling). Troubleshoot AT&T and Comcast but never got it to work.2. Stopped surfing the web suddenly one morning after surfing the web for 2 hours with no problems. Caught the question "Is this a Netgear orโ€ฆ

Excellent modem/router for DOCSIS 3.1 Gigabit Internet

Purchased for use with Comcast Gigabit Internet (DOCSIS 3.1) as a replacement for the XB6 modem that Comcast comes with rented the service, and overall I am very happy with the purchase. Installation was very easy via Comcast's self-activation website by following the instructions in the quick start guide that came with it. The LEDs on the left side of the device conveniently glow white for 1000 Mbps Ethernet connections or amber for 10/100 Mbps connections. My PC's download speed over a wiredโ€ฆ

Do not buy, not worth the money

Bought primarily for a cable modem to stop renting an Xfinity gateway. Nighthawk Wireless to support these speeds for all my wireless devices. Setting up wireless was easy, but enabling it with Comcast Xfinity (Comcast bug) was TERRIBLE. Using Netgear Genie to set up a wireless router is acceptable. I find it more convenient to configure through the browser. I only gave this product two stars because I expected more from the Netgear Nighthawk product (wireless router). What an upgrade from the Asus 68U router. how wow

This router/modem is huge. But it is good. It's big enough that you can place two 120mm fans on it to keep it freezing all the time. The status lights are bright. The antenna tips light up and the best part is this solved a big problem I was having. We have a 1200 square foot house, a cinder block (Florida) by the way, and we FINALLY have full bands in the 5GHz spectrum, yes, 5GHz. Everywhere in our house! No more internet outages, no more connection problems. When plugged in, it works like aโ€ฆ
