Good buy Great pump

Great pump. If your hose is fitted with a Schrader valve you may need an adapter when using R134 automotive gauges. The supplied adapter does not have a valve depressor for the ACME size, but it does for the older R12 size. Several people have complained that it fills your workspace with clouds of smoke, and that's what happens when you overfill it. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Also, don't put oil in the exhaust port, it's a big red pin that says OIL. (Yes it's a bass back) It's a great pump…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • All right

Excellent pump, the best among air conditioning tools and equipment

Although this pump is made in China, it is an excellent pump. That's why it's called Robinson. Follow the directions and follow the proper warm-up/break-in procedure and it will run just fine. I can smell the oil from above but the oil vapor as some say does not come out. The only problem I see is that the manual says "Remove and discard the outlet plug from the outlet fitting". Mine didn't have a plug in the exhaust filter, but a layman can read that, remove the whole exhaust filter and throw…

Pros
  • Very good value for money

Well made and works perfectly

My old Robinair 15000 weighs about 40 pounds and runs a lot when pumping which I hate. This 15500 is so light, runs smooth and doesn't wobble. I would have given 5 stars if the manual wasn't so bad. The manual shows all the external service parts but never explains the function of the exhaust fitting. Some users even think it is an oil filler plug. This section then tells you how to properly turn off the pump, including 3 or more steps, except it never says when to turn off the power switch…

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Good value for money, worked very well, very quiet.

I went with a brand name and not one of the cheaper models with similar features. Never had a pump, but any car needs a new supercharger if you keep it going long enough. A pump and refill cost more than this pump (including freon and oil). Easy setup, quiet, good vacuum cleaner. I didn't check the ultimate vacuum as my gauges aren't the best, but the needle was basically tied to the max vacuum level. The repair was: Automotive - new compressor, all new gaskets on all nodes, a complete flushing

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Some issues
