Description of ๐Ÿ’พ Silicon Power 512GB NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen3x4 2280 TLC SSD - High-Speed 3,400/2,300MB/s R/W, 800TBW

Super-fast PCIe Gen3x4 interface for read/write speeds of up to 3,400MB/s/ 2,300MB/s. TBW=800. The warranty terms on all of its SSDs are based on whether the warranty length or TBW limit occurs first. To support a Silicon Power PCIe SSD, the system must have an M. 2 connector with only an M key. The Silicon Power PCIe SSD does not have a b notch and therefore, the b key on the SSD connector will prevent it from being inserted. The custom screw should come with the motherboard or PC. Please acquire the screw from your motherboard or PC Manufacturer, if needed.

Best Bang For Buck SSD

Note I have upgraded from WD Black 1st Gen. all thoughts are based on comparison with this ssd. This drive is so cheap that there is no reason not to buy it instead of a SATA SSD (because the price is comparable: $40 => 256GB, $60 => 512GB, $110 => 1TB), at this price you get very fast reading. about three times the write speed with SATA. The random speed is very similar to a regular SSD, you won't feel a dramatic improvement in responsiveness, but it's noticeable during boot, I don'tโ€ฆ

Great drives: Internal SSDs

I've bought three of these drives (so far) and have had absolutely no problems with them. The price is great for the market and the drive is actually consistently faster than my EVO 960 apart from some very strong reads (but always wins on writes) and significantly faster than my SATA SSD (and obviously insanely faster than my mechanic). No frills included, simply packaged, no frills, no hassle, drive works great and super fast. My eldest is about a year old now and my youngest a few monthsโ€ฆ

Cold boot Win10 to login screen in just 10 seconds!

I've had it for a few weeks now and love the super fast download. When turning on the PC from an off state, the boot time to the login screen is 11 seconds and to the desktop is about 18 seconds. Copying large files from folder to folder is lightning fast. The temperature of the SSD is 40 to 45 degrees under load and 30 to 35 degrees in standby mode. And that's even with the huge RX480 mounted on top. Having played Witcher 3 for a long time and my graphics card has temperatures between 60-70Cโ€ฆ

It failed after five months and is now in purgatory RMA

The device (in working condition) turned out to be quite competent, fast and inexpensive SSD. Unfortunately, after five months, the drive no longer showed up in the BIOS, or when it did, it reported 0GB capacity. The data is gone from the boot drive, luckily nothing is lost that can't be backed up. At the time of writing, Silicon Power has had my drive for three weeks but is apparently unable to ship a replacement in the mail due to Covid-19 issues. Since I was able to send them the disc (viaโ€ฆ

BSoD problems from the start (UPDATE)

I installed two of these on my new system, one with OS and within two days I was getting a Blue Screen of Death (BSoD). I even unplugged and reinstalled both of them, BSoD still occurred. My computer is very new but I am using it for grad school and would like to notify the OEM that I received a defective drive. I will contact the company via support when available. Has anyone else encountered this problem? ------------------------------------------------ --โ€ฆ

512GB NVMe PCIe Gen3x4 (not recommended)!

This is my first Silicon Power product and I have to tell you, terrible first impression! I have a Samsung EVO 850 Sata III 250GB which performs better than this NVMe. The read speed is excellent, the maximum reached 3100 MB / s, but the write speed is just terrible, nothing close to the declared (up to 3000 MB / s). The write speeds I got ranged from 115 MB/s to 1124 MB/s. When I installed Windows on it, it took forever, my SATA SSD was 50x faster. After the Windows installation was complete I

Heat under load is NORMAL for NVMe SSDs! Impressive update!

So I bought this NVMe SSD in October with the initial plan to upgrade my Acer Nitro 5's standard Intel NVMe SSD. Well, back then work was pretty hectic and there wasn't time for a clean install. I prefer to reinstall whenever possible just to get the most out of such an upgrade. Now that I've returned home from the mission and things have cooled, I've finally decided to dig deeper. Saved backup copies of bookmarks, passwords and files. Ready to ignite. I had no idea this thing was going to beโ€ฆ
