This is a great little personal alarm, but it's hard to activate. You will see in the video that it's hard for me to pull the "pin" out. However, once it's pulled it is loud and the flashing light is bright. I got it for me mom. She is elderly and is sometimes out and about on her own. This alarm gives you some peace of mind, but honestly, it's not that loud. It may scare away someone who is looking for a crime of opportunity, but it may not work if you are in a remote area. If it's crowded or there may be people around, it will get some attention. I have a couple of other similar alarms and I've gifted a few to my daughter's friends who are all college age. This is a great safety item. As it gets darker sooner, I need to feel safe coming and going. I definitely feel like if I have to use this devise, it’s loud and bright enough to make someone think twice. I love the idea of this for a college student too.

I got this for my wife because if the current times we live in. Crime is really bad and unfortunately, you hear stories of these ladies going to the store and getting attacked by strangers. I can say this: it is loud, and my ears are ringing. I like the strobe effect as well. It is a great idea, but I don't know the practicality of using this in an Emergency. It seems a bit clumsy and large. Great idea and a good gift and some added peace of mind but it is a passive option.

This is an excellent alarm that I use to protect my personal safety. It is easy to use. You pull out the pin to sound the alarm which emits a very loud noise along with a bright LED light. The charging time is fast and the battery life is long. I would highly recommend this product for use in an emergency situation.
