Xero Terraflex First Impressions men's size 12

Good: I like it overall. Okay, detailed: The toe protection is well thought out. Very light shoes, close to the Merrell Trail Glove 4 which I liked so much. This Merrell lacked the padding on the rough sections of the Washington Cascades (PCT-J). Deeper lugs than this comparison. But not as deep as the Inov-8 Terraultra G260. It feels like this shoe could be a good compromise between Merrell and Inov-8. Passed some hard roots by the creek and felt well protected. Climbs 30-40 degrees, holds up…

Pros
  • worth your money
Cons
  • It felt like walking barefoot. not a fan

Bought it in March 2019

Still using them. I don't use them for trail running, just doing housework and walking most of the time. There's really no wear and tear on them. The most important thing is comfort, they are so easy to walk on. You have to be careful when walking on some surfaces because when you step on a rock, FEEL it. They make it easy to feel things through the shoes, for better or for worse. They are more like slippers that look like shoes than regular shoes. Another thing I use them for is driving. It is

Pros
  • loved her. 8 hours at work and on the go. Thank you, those are great live legs!!!
Cons
  • May not fit all foot shapes

The most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

So everyone has been telling me that putting on barefoot shoes makes my feet hurt until I adjust. You were wrong. Minutes after I put them on all my leg pains were gone. My posture improved within a few days. My back pain subsided. Please note that this is my personal experience and I'm a weird duck. But it's the most comfortable thing I've ever worn on my feet. I've had them for about a month and they show no signs of wear and I go for a walk almost every day. They cope equally well with…

Pros
  • Lightweight and comfortable to wear
Cons
  • Can cause heel pain

Fit is good. Unfortunately not quality

I liked the idea, it fits, zero drops. The material just doesn't hold up. I've had a couple, maybe 6 months of light walking, mowing my 1/4 acre yard, and they were looking awful. The sole was separating from the upper, the leather-like material had scuffs and scrapes. I threw the shoes away but they looked like a few photos in some of the 2018 and 2019 reviews. I really wanted to like the shoes but they just don't stretch. I've worn out VFFs, Merrells and others that have lasted much longer…

Pros
  • Good choice
Cons
  • Size 12, probably size 11.

Fantastic. The caterpillars are more aggressive than I thought, but I'm not upset about that at all. Although I'm not a regular runner/walker these are great shoes for walking around the garden. Just the right amount of breathability, warmth and grip. I can wear them almost anywhere (in style), but I don't recommend them for long walks on hard, flat surfaces (like sidewalks).

Pros
  • I switched all my shoes to Xero Shoes. I've tried other minimalist brands but these seem to work the best for me.
Cons
  • May not provide adequate traction on slippery surfaces.

Not what I was hoping for.

I bought these shoes looking for an alternative to the New Balance Minimus Trail Runners which I love and have worn for 20 years. Unfortunately, New Balance seems to have stopped making them. These Xero shoes feel chunky and too soft, especially in the heel area (none of this is necessary!). And it doesn't have that nice instep hug that NB has. I won't buy them again even though they're almost as comfortable as slippers.

Pros
  • I am overweight and have a right meniscus tear, after 4 days I can walk without knee brace and compression sleeves.
Cons
  • Not suitable for wide feet

Not a good first impression

Also, I am disappointed in the communication with this company. To say the least, this was the worst first experience I have ever had with a company. just said. And now he can't talk to anyone there. You'll have to wait and see if they reply to the email. At first I was very excited about the shoes and the company (was looking for something other than my five toes). Again the first experience/impression. FAIL

Pros
  • The most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever had.
Cons
  • Not suitable for people with high arches.

Be sure to try this out on your walk.

I decided to try these minimalist shoes after suffering from swelling and bruising on my toes after a long hike in more traditional hiking boots. First I tried size 11 which is my usual size for athletic shoes but they seemed a bit short so I exchanged them for 11.5. I was looking for a roomy toe box and it certainly fit the bill. They are also light and very flexible with low arches, which is what I was looking for. But while I generally found them comfortable for walking short distances, I…

Pros
  • Provides a barefoot feel for better ground contact
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with foot or joint problems

Too narrow, not wide enough, cheaply made.

I love sandals. These shoes are not very good! They appear to be cheaply made. Sole flex is firmer/stiffer than desired. Not sure if the outsole will hold up in the Scottsdale, Arizona wilderness? It was a bit grippy but walking on sharp rocks affected the sole. The materials around the edges of the upper appear to be stained and are more likely to peel off first. Pooh. The toe is too narrow. I am a woman with a wide foot, narrow heel, high arch and I buy men's sizes for the wider width. I…

Pros
  • Perfect shoes for flat feet! The watch is comfortable and durable!
Cons
  • The sole falls off after walking less than 100 miles and guarantees 5000

Life changes! in my rating

For me, switching to these Barefoot shoes has been an amazing transformation. After years of wearing arch, soft, and expensive shoes, I lost strength and balance in my legs and ankles. After changing Zero shoes for two weeks I can't believe the difference! My legs feel stronger than they have in a long time and my overall balance is improving every day. I'm 69 so it's never too late! Try them, they might change your life!

Pros
  • Great for hiking, great fit, good profile, does exactly what I need.
Cons
  • Limited ankle support

Very happy with my feedback

I've been wearing minimalist shoes for about a year now and I really like how my body responds. This was my first pair of Xero shoes and I was impressed. I've been using it for about 2 months and almost every day. They are holding up well and I am ordering a pair of their waterproof boots!

Pros
  • Helps improve foot and ankle strength
Cons
  • Can cause back pain

Zero falls and barefoot feeling work?

I really thoroughly tested the school with zero fall and barefoot feel. I'm not sure I believe. My arches are flatter and like most of us I've worn heels and trainers my whole life. Maybe this type of shoe helps build foot muscles, but my experience wasn't what I expected. Mostly pain in the heel and fascia

Pros
  • I needed new disc golf shoes and am very happy with my choice!
Cons
  • Limited color options

Good trail shoes

Shoes are comfortable and roomy. I've had them for five days now and can't say anything bad about them. The first day of wearing it I had to get used to the sole because when walking on level ground I noticed the protrusions on the sole, now I don't notice them at all. They offer good traction on sand-covered rocks, but like most shoes in this category, you'll feel a lot of pressure.

Pros
  • I love these shoes, my second pair, I will get more.
Cons
  • Limited shelf life

New well done review

The shoes are well made and fit as promised. I wore five fingers and wanted something warmer and better protection from the sharp gravel on the trails I run in the winter. I also love them for cross training.

Pros
  • These shoes are so light and roomy that I honestly don't know if I'm wearing them.
Cons
  • I've only had these shoes for 1.5 months and they're already falling apart. What will you do to fix this problem? Thanks

Happy, not very happy.

This is my second pair of Xeros, my first pair is the mid-rise version of the Xcursion. Initially I was happy with the Terra Flex for its lightness, flexibility, wide toe box and great profile. I received these shoes a few days before my scheduled 11-mile hike on the Chilnualna Falls Trail (all moderate trails) in Yosemite on July 26, 2021. In less than 2 miles I sprained my toe and the outsole started to separate from the outsole. Top of the boot along the seam. How is that possible?! These…

Pros
  • Machine washable for easy cleaning
Cons
  • Limited ankle support

The best shoes I've ever had

I am CNA and I have shoes from several well known brands and I can say these are the best that I have not had any pain in my legs, back or legs. I alternate between them and my hands. I love these shoes and will continue to buy them.

Pros
  • Suitable for people with flat feet or high arches
Cons
  • Difficult to clean

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Low quality.: my review

I bought them 10 months ago, hardly worn and they are already falling apart. The tread hasn't even started to wear out and the soles are coming off. They advertise a wide sock, but are more suited to regular shoes than brands like Altra. Save money and buy the best brand.

Pros
  • Provides a secure fit for better stability
Cons
  • Limited depreciation

Wonderful! - My review

It took me a little time to get used to them. They closely mimic walking barefoot. I even felt single leaves on the sidewalk as I walked across it. It also took some time to get used to the movement. My calves need more work, but I suspect this is because my feet have been over-supported my entire life. Now that I've been using them for a while my feet and legs are adjusting well to the new movement and my calves seem to be getting stronger. Not that I'd recommend jumping right at work, but…

Pros
  • Ensures a natural body balance
Cons
  • Limited breathability

Great shoes - my new review

I have worn Xero sandals for many years. This is my first set of Xero shoes. I'm so impressed that Xero can count on my support for other shoes as well. Comfortable. Light. Excellent hold. Almost feels like barefoot. Thanks.

Pros
  • Waterproof construction for wet weather
Cons
  • May not provide adequate protection on steep slopes.

I like it, but it's half a size smaller

I received them in my usual size 9.5 but they are a bit short. I'm curious about the right size. The flat, flexible outsole feels great.

Pros
  • Absolutely how I wanted it. Broad toe, 0 drops. The thread was great too.
Cons
  • No cushioning for impact protection
