I ordered this after finding my son's lizard at the bottom of the aquarium every morning in the cold. Even with its ceramic heating bulb. I bought this, installed it and the lizard hasn't slept anywhere else. He loves it and I no longer find him cold in the morning.

PLEASE DO NOT buy this for your spotted leopard gecko! Our poor boy has severe burns from this, cannot move his hind legs and we are praying for his healing. This may work well for other reptiles, but the temperature seems too high for geckos. We are so sad!

I was nervous about the purchase because I read that you burned your ball python. It won't get too hot. Use it for its intended purpose. Do not light them with heat lamps, do not cover them with a flower soil, do not wrap them in a towel, work according to the instructions and everything will turn out perfectly. Like my purchase. Turtle loves his rock, you can literally see it lying on it all the time. My only issue is that he has a bit of a hard time climbing to the top at times and more than once I found him falling onto his back while breaking away from him. Otherwise it's super cool and he loves the thing.

This stone doesn't emit much heat but helps create a microclimate. I use it in an 8' x 3' enclosure along with other heat sources for my boa constrictor. I wouldn't even consider using this alone unless you're hosting something that can live in 60-75 degree (F) climates and just enjoys a few warmer spots.
