This is the third time I buy this product because it keeps breaking. It broke after the 2nd time, I tried to glue it with G-Weld but I glued it wrong so I have to buy this 3rd one. I've reinforced it with G-welds before it breaks where it normally breaks to make it strong. I didn't see any metal (at least on the driver's side steering wheel, but you can get it on the passenger side for $28).

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some little things

The perfect replacement!

So here's the thing. I can't tug on these things and expect them to last forever, and apparently they don't like cold snaps either. So if it breaks, and it will eventually, it's plastic. Grab this for under ten bucks and hit the road. Remove two screws, Torx T27 socket (on my 04 Silverado), lubricate the upper, middle and lower door hinges with good anti-seize compound (don't overdo it). Then put the new, exactly fitting loop back into the hole, screw in the two screws, done!

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Legacy model

Read it ! in Outside door handles

Ez pz install. These rear doors have latches at the top and bottom. BEFORE installation, apply some lithium grease and snap the top and bottom latches onto the door to prevent the plastic from breaking again. That's why it broke in the first place. The latches jammed and the plastic knob broke. If you lubricate them and work with the mechanics with the handle removed, you will enjoy them for many years. Gm doors are prone to freezing, especially on the bottom latch, but a little white lithium…

Shipped quickly! suitable for spare parts

My husband broke off the door handle on the driver's side 3 years ago. He thought it would be very expensive to fix. I'm frustrated and tired that I can't open the extended door to get into the back seat. I searched on Revain and found a replacement at a very reasonable price. It remains to find a person who will install it. Apparently you need a special tool for this. I thought it was just screwed up, but it's not. Hopefully I can find someone to install it soon. Very grateful this piece was…

It works on the drivers side of a 2003 Silverado.

Works on my 2003 Silverado. The original lasted 12 years, the first replacement lasted 1 year. It broke in the last frost when the back door froze shut and I tried to open it. I hope this new one will last more than a year. I've had it on my truck for about three weeks and it still seems to be working. Installation is quick and easy if you have the tools. About five minutes of work. So your choice is to pay the dealer big bucks for an OEM that will eventually break, or buy a very cheap…

Cheap plastic but works well

Bought for my 2001 Silverado 1500. Cheap plastic but works great and the price is right. Very easy to install: just loosen the two screws to remove the old one, attach the new one and put the screws back. I've had it installed for about 11 months now. Only problem is there was a small crack under the top screw hole a few months ago, but I may have overtightened it when installing. So far it hasn't affected his work. Would buy again if needed. **Note: Be sure to oil the mechanism in the door…

Broke in less than a year and I used WD40 in the install.

UPDATE: 6/9/17 --- Lasted less than a year. It broke a few weeks ago. The plastic is cracked on the inside of the handle where the lever is. I don't even open the back door often. Changed my rating from 4 stars to 2 stars. During installation I sprayed the spring with WD40. I have attached photos. I will look for another replacement. Easy exchange. Does not come with screws. All you need is a hex bit and a screwdriver. I can't comment on durability as I only installed it yesterday. I made sure…

Good aftermarket part

I bought a 2002 Silverado last year with a broken extended driver's side door handle. I bought and installed an aftermarket replacement just like this. After the replacement, I noticed that opening the extended door requires a lot of force. I had to pull it all the way so it barely came loose and opened. I knew it was only a matter of time before the replacement broke too. Of course it broke after just a few months. Before I ordered another one, which was also only supposed to last a few…
