Type of review

The printer itself works but the wifi and app are completely unusable. To say it has wifi would be a mistake so I give it 3 stars. I also love the auto-leveling feature, the enclosed build area, and the relatively easy removal of the magnetic build plate. There is no useful documentation for people new to 3D printing, which seems like an oversight. At the same time, the cadet worked right out of the box. Unlike other printers in this price range, no assembly is required. My kids ages 10 and 7…

Pros
  • Printing via WLAN. Printing over Wi-Fi is a breeze with an easy-to-use mobile app.
Cons
  • No instructions

Malfunction?

I ordered this printer after reading some very positive reviews and the test prints initially looked great. Then things quickly went downhill. It was only my second 3D printer so I'm still quite a noob but the cadet I got seems broken. Here are a few issues I encountered: Wi-Fi - worked exactly once and never reconnected. As it stands, this isn't a big deal in and of itself as Wi-Fi usage is minimal at best, but I expected it to work on more than one occasion. Magnetic build plate - this thing…

Pros
  • Full automatic alignment. With an easy-to-use automatic alignment solution, no manual adjustments are required, saving you time and improving print quality.
Cons
  • Damaged

Out of the box, this printer required extensive setup, including reinstalling the printhead assembly on the bottom rail, manually adjusting the Z-axis screw to allow the printhead to reach the platform, and lowering the proximity sensor. None of these settings are documented, but given the printer's simple design, they were pretty basic. However, it's not exactly a basic printer due to the enclosed build area, so be prepared for some frustration and oddly angled screwdrivers. In terms of…

Pros
  • Compact: Its small size makes it ideal for the desktop, office, dorm or classroom.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
