Suitable for the do-it-yourselfer

This tool works as advertised. Level and base should engage more firmly. Once installed, I had to be careful when pulling it off the brake disc so as not to change the setting. I don't think it would be possible to do any work on the car with this tool without changing the settings. That being said I would recommend this tool to a DIY enthusiast. This is easier and more accurate than using markers to help with assembly.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Not suitable for everyone

Fast-acting, inexpensive leveling tool now

Allegedly a way to recover camber after lowering due to spring/suspension replacement. We have found that the magnet is so strong that it is difficult to remove it from the brake disc without changing the level. To make the job easier, remove the magnet, press firmly against the disc, zero it, then set it aside, make your changes, then zero the camber again. Note the level difference on both sides of the vehicle (if the vehicle is not perfectly level) and correct the difference.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Doubtful

It turns out to be an excellent paperweight

An excellent paperweight! I had to modify it out of the box to make it work. The wing nut failed to tighten the hinge enough to prevent the sensor from moving. It seemed like they were using an SAE nut on an SI bolt that just wouldn't tighten enough before loosening the threads. A pair of rubber washers and the right nut (M6x1.0 if I remember correctly) did the trick. It just has to be good enough to bring the corners closer. I guess I won't know how it was until I do the actual alignment.

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • There are nuances

Would have given 5 stars without the wing nut

would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the lamb. Couldn't tighten on first try; another case of standard versus metric. Luckily there was something to replace it. The tool itself worked well. I'm not sure of the accuracy but at least it gave me an idea of the left and right lateral adjustment to keep the camber in line. The wing nut allows you to adjust the zero point, so you're painlessly measuring relative adjustment, not actual values. This is really helpful when you can't level the carโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • The list goes on.

Looking at the design, it would be easy to build an 8 inch building level.

Needs revision. I left it on my car for a few weeks and the magnet came loose. Wheel on which the magnet holds the pressure gauge. I replaced the knurled nut with a lock nut. The bubble glass is only covered with a plastic ruler so when it fell apart the glass bubble tube popped out and broke. Looking at the design it would be easy to set up an 8 inch spirit level to do the same if you really don't need to know the degrees. I don't need to buy another one and I'm not sure I would have bought it

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • old

Savings from Premature Tire Wear

This is a good DIY tool to save on wheel alignment costs if you have a car that drives well but has tire wear inside or out. I just pick the bike off the ground and take it off. Then put it on the stand, zero it and tighten the wing nut very well. Loosen the strut bolts and do whatever you want. The purpose is also good. Zero it on the stand, carefully remove it, and carefully set it aside. Replace axle or strut or whatever. When you reassemble it, carefully place it back on the stand andโ€ฆ
