Not perfect, but one of the best test kits out there.

I run a reef aquarium maintenance company and decided to give this a try after using the Red Sea test kits for a long time. First, the test set itself is fairly accurate and I've had very similar results in the Red Sea. However, the kit itself feels very fragile and you don't feel like you're getting the same quality as Red Sea's professional test kit. There is still speculation between 5 and 12 ppm nitrate. But since this kit is significantly cheaper and even cheaper than the Red Sea Reagent…

Good nitrate test, sensitivity limited below

Fairly good kit for determining the nitrate level in sea water. It uses a different reagent system than most other nitrate tests, so it's a good confirmatory test if you have questions about the results of another kit. Like most nitrate tests, it has limited sensitivity on the low end; For example, it is difficult to distinguish a nitrate reading of 0.25 from 0.75. If you are dosing carbon, this can be important. The best low nitrate test kit for hobbyists is probably the Red Sea. Hach also…

Too much effort, too little product for the money.

I found this test accurate and easy to read, but the materials themselves are difficult to work with. There are so many bits and pieces to this test that you absolutely cannot lose. The dropper bottle was very loose, so even the lightest squeeze could mean a few drops would fall out too quickly to count. It was pretty bad because from the start you didn't feel like there was a lot of liquid in the bottle. I ran out of kit shortly after purchasing it and definitely got far less value from the…

Dropper Bottle Probably the worst dropper bottle I've ever used

I have been using this kit for a few months now. As one of the other reviewers mentioned, the dropper bottle is probably the worst dropper bottle I've ever used. The one that was in my kit drips out when the bottle is inverted without squeezing the bottle. You have to be very careful with it. The droplets also appear to have turned a light yellow hue, which will immediately stain your test sample. I'm not 100% sure but I think the drops were clear when I first received the test kit. The rest of

I like this set but can't say I like it. It's fairly accurate and not too difficult to use, but I'd like more resolution and I don't like the bottle used to add the reagent drops. The bottle seems to be more than 1/2 empty and it's not the best bottle I've seen. It looks kinda cheap and fragile. I'd rather you raise the price, buy a better bottle, and then refill it. I didn't really fall in love with the addition of powder either. It's not terrible, but opening and closing the little glass vial

Distilled water readings 5; API closest to parsing ICP

Where do I start, what a shitty excuse this 'test' kit is. The lowest quality dropper bottle I've seen for dispensing a reagent. At the slightest incline, the bottle begins to drip. When trying to shake the vial, the reagent leaked out at the seams and splattered everywhere. The 5ml syringe arrived broken and cannot be used. This kit also contains 2-3 times more powder reagent than you need. To be honest, the quality and chemical accuracy of this kit is like it was designed by a group of kids…
