My requirement was to replace the 44 year old flanged nylon threaded inserts with 1/4"-20 threads. The nylon inserts were becoming brittle over time and the threads for the old adjustable furniture legs were loosening/loosening .These flanged zinc inserts screw into existing holes in the grandfather clock's solid wood, no drilling or resizing required. The used M6, 1/4" allen wrench will likely fit. Furniture legs are now a much tighter threaded fit to these inserts and are more stable [do not wobble]. So this is the perfect solution to my problem. The clock becomes more stable than ever.
