Good product

These threaded inserts work very well but they have their limitations. I had trouble fixing patio furniture. If the wood isn't very hard, they won't last long. They also break under certain conditions.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Nothing here

Ideal for mounting in collections

I had no problem fitting them to the ends of the two xs to which I attached the flat stock. Everyone I used accepted the screws I used with no problem. If you overdrill the hole for them, your screws will go right through them.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Legacy

Great part for sorting fasteners

These are great for placing in wood where fasteners need to be removed and reinstalled. I'd like to give everyone one piece of advice: Make sure you get the drill bit size stated on the packaging. This is a non-standard size in my drill set so I used a larger and a smaller one and they both came out a bit from where they should have been.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Easy install and great job

I used them to fasten the plywood sheets we installed in an enclosed outdoor area over the winter. This system makes it very easy to install and remove panels. Very easy to fit into the lumber I used for this project. The hole required for installation is a 23/64 inch drill. A hex wrench or 6mm screwdriver is required to hammer in. No additional cordless screwdriver is required for construction timber. T button.

Pros
  • Pleasant

Ideal for replacing old nylon liners.

My requirement was to replace the 44 year old flanged nylon threaded inserts with 1/4"-20 threads. The nylon inserts were becoming brittle over time and the threads for the old adjustable furniture legs were loosening/loosening .These flanged zinc inserts screw into existing holes in the grandfather clock's solid wood, no drilling or resizing required. The used M6, 1/4" allen wrench will likely fit. Furniture legs are now a much tighter threaded fit to these inserts and are more stable [do not…

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Doubtful

A few years ago I discovered the fun of T-Nuts

I often feel like I've chosen the wrong profession because I really enjoy maintaining equipment. I discovered the fun of T-Nuts a few years ago, but these EZ Lok inserts are just over the top. I originally bought them to build into some speaker boxes for easier hanging and thought buying 50 when I need eight would be overkill, but I keep finding uses for them. I have a vintage art deco dining table that has been wobbling for a while, but I haven't figured out how to stabilize it. The answer is:

Pros
  • The Best in Their Niche
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

Used in 1-1/2 " pine

I needed to fit heavy airlift brackets to a 1-1/2" solid pine bed base. I was a little worried about possible splitting along the wood grain, so I drilled 1/64" more holes than recommended and applied a bit of two-part 2-ton epoxy to the insert's external threads and the holes in the wood when installing. Enough epoxy. To allow the inserts to stay in and bond well with the wood not so much that it catches on the internal threads.Lightly smeared with epoxy the inserts also screwed into the holes…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Compatibility

Love these inserts later why 4 stars

I love these inserts later why 4 stars. The flange will hold them if someone pulls on them. Cherry is my wood of choice for furniture and the minimum thickness I've used is ¾ inch. I had issues with either the hole being too big and they didn't hold up well or being too tight and the wood cracking. Now I use a 2" hole that is ¼" deep, followed by a 1 ¼" hole that is 23/32" deep, a 1/2" hole that is 13/32" deep and a final 15/32" hole with a depth of 1/8". I dripped about two drops of superglue…

Ideal for 1-1/4 " particle board. Table top.

These inserts are 1" long. I used a 21/64" pilot hole. I used a 1/4"-20 x 1" button head machine screw. They were 1-1/8" long, but I haven't seen that size.) I used them for attaching table legs to round 1-1/4" thick laminated chipboard, 4 foot diameter. I used 8 per four legs. (Two previous sets of leg holes with regular large wood screws were ripped out) They worked very well. I first drilled my 8 holes in each slightly larger metal table leg bracket to fit my 1/4" mounting screws. To align…
