I agree with several other reviewers: it's a useful and well-designed tool that suffers from very poor workmanship and doesn't reflect very well on the label "made" in the USA". In terms of design, it's perfect - not too big, just flexible enough and with a sharp edge to slide well under delicate products. In terms of finish, it's (literally) rough around the edges, which is surprising given the relatively high price and Victorinox heritage. Metal splinters can get into food. I had to use a thin metal file and sharpening steel to finish it off, but the obvious coarseness of the steel grit makes me wonder how long this new edge will last. The handle is also poorly made. I can feel the sharp edges of the steel shaft between the wood and the wood itself is horribly finished and needs a proper sanding and sealing. There are tool marks all over the tree, two fragments had to be picked out, and the gaps around a couple of rivets don't inspire confidence. Time will tell how well it holds up to hand washing but I suspect it will fade fairly quickly even if I dry it straight away and I wouldn't be surprised if the wood falls off completely after about six months. I've had $5 Chinese made kitchen tools with better wooden handles than this one.
