Heaven's gift

I never knew how much my old spatulas sucked until I used this one. My old spatulas would ruin scrambled eggs and pancakes. In general, it was so difficult to turn things around. This spatula has a thin edge that makes it easy to slide between the pan and food. Give it a little wiggle and the food will fall easily onto the spatula for easy turning. The handle is strong and not too long. There is no hesitation. I wash the product by hand because the wooden handle breaks in the dishwasher over…

Poor quality and no recourse

Wow I used this twice and the handle broke! I noticed that the spatula was very wobbly and poorly attached to the handle. Then I see that the tree has split! I contacted the manufacturer about their 'lifetime guarantee' and they want me to ship the product to them plus ten bucks! Well, about 75% of the cost of the item is new and you still have an extremely low quality product. My return period has also expired. I do not recommend this wood turner or this company (Victorinox) because of their…

Made cheap. Handle comes loose after 3 uses

As some other reviews have noted the workmanship is not the best. In the rounded parts of the slots, each slot has a small notch at the bottom, as if it sank too deep when coming back. The scraper head had several mechanical notches. The metal on the outside of the handle appears rough. And if you press with some force, you can see the handle bounce off the metal, leaving a small gap that who knows how it holds. Edit: Now after the third use (grilled cheese) it's significantly weaker. If I…

Good start! best outdoor cooking gear and accessories

First, my average rating might be a little harsh. I believe Victorinox is a respected brand that makes a quality product. Unfortunately, they do not have time to finish the work. I have a whole collection of Victorinox wooden handle knives and spatulas. Each of the parts I received required additional finishing. I had to sand a straight edge, sand the handles, and then polish. Once I complete these tasks, they will be wonderful items for me to use. This spatula is no different. I think the…

Fishing tuner or DIY project?

Lathe of the right size, right thickness, with just the right blade curvature; very good. HOWEVER, the customer is of course responsible for the finishing of the turner. Rough metal finish; rough wood finish. "Requires fine grinding and polishing of metal and wood. Stainless steel has a matte finish that is unfortunately harder to keep clean; "Should have been polished. So far I haven't had any issues with the crank self-destructing; I wonder if those who complained about this put their lathe…

This is the best spatula money can buy

This is the best spatula money can buy. Don't let the name fool you, this spatula isn't just for fish. The front edge is beveled so you can easily slide anything you want to cook underneath. The spatula is small enough to maneuver around the pan and flexes well (but not too much) to help with delicate items. The spatula blade has a full shank (metal extends to the bottom of the handle) and thanks to three rivets this spatula is extremely durable. The spatula looks the same as the day I bought…

I love this item

I really like this item. Some reviewers stated that their wooden handle was rough and/or the metal lug wasn't evenly lapped onto the handle. I haven't found any of this. The raw wood handle (although not as smooth as lacquered) is sanded acceptably and the rivets fit well. I would advise anyone buying unfinished utensils with a wooden handle to 1) apply some food grade mineral oil or meat block oil to the handle immediately and then periodically for a period of time to keep it from cracking…

Lasted 6 months in a professional kitchen

I spent a lot of time learning about fish spatulas. I work in a professional kitchen for one of the top 10 chefs in the country currently about 5-6 days a week for 12+ hours a day and my spatulas are used HARD. I found this guy as a temporary, inexpensive replacement until the $50 German stamp I wanted was in stock at my local brick and mortar store. In the end I was so happy with the edge and grip that I just didn't upgrade as planned. This worked great for about 6 months until a new set of…

Good tool, terrible workmanship

I agree with several other reviewers: it's a useful and well-designed tool that suffers from very poor workmanship and doesn't reflect very well on the label "made" in the USA". In terms of design, it's perfect - not too big, just flexible enough and with a sharp edge to slide well under delicate products. In terms of finish, it's (literally) rough around the edges, which is surprising given the relatively high price and Victorinox heritage. Metal splinters can get into food. I had to use a…
