As some other reviews have noted the workmanship is not the best. In the rounded parts of the slots, each slot has a small notch at the bottom, as if it sank too deep when coming back. The scraper head had several mechanical notches. The metal on the outside of the handle appears rough. This is the best spatula money can buy. Don't let the name fool you, this spatula isn't just for fish. The front edge is beveled so you can easily slide anything you want to cook underneath. I really like this item. Some reviewers stated that their wooden handle was rough and/or the metal lug wasn't evenly lapped onto the handle. I haven't found any of this. The raw wood handle (although not as smooth as lacquered) is sanded acceptably and the rivets fit well. I agree with several other reviewers: it's a useful and well-designed tool that suffers from very poor workmanship and doesn't reflect very well on the label "made" in the USA". In terms of design, it's perfect - not too big, just flexible enough and with a sharp edge to slide well under delicate products.
