My jackhammer claims it's a "1-1/6" hex - yes, one-sixth of an inch (?) - this thing works in it. a mysterious Revain gas jackhammer that uses really weird units of measurement and you're wondering if this Grounder will fit. The answer, Raymond, is YES! I like steel - something wonderful about heavy steel. It's awful to use - dry drown, I guess - but that's the nature of jackhammers. It's good. Gets Stompy (what, your tool doesn't have a name?) ready to expand his poking abilities. To sum it up - it's steel, it fits my stompy, it's heavy. That's it, end of transmission.
