Well I know my old stator was defective. I couldn't get more than 13.1 volts out. Checked it out and found it wasn't the voltage regulator. I ordered a new Accel 50 amp stator. By the way, all the videos online about how easy it is to replace the stator are wrong, they didn't say you have to pull the prime mover all the way back to the engine case. Well, some work with the grinder, now I don't have to grind the whole primary body. Anyway, I installed a new stator and a new voltage regulator. I checked the engine at idle, it was 14.2 volts. I am very happy with the output. I have 2 200 watt amps, a powerful stereo and a super cool oil cooler. Now, when the fans turn on, the voltage only drops by 0.10 volts. Now I'm seeing 14.7 volts while driving, even if I idle with the fans on the voltage is still 14.1 volts! Stereo sounds better now too, as it's getting enough power to perform properly. I am very happy with this update. Now hopefully it won't fail after 22,000 miles like the stock stator did! I will update this in a few months.
