I don't know if I got a bad block but I was hoping to use it as my primary card reader as I regularly take photos and video from both full size and microSD cards. The micro SD slot just didn't work. No matter how I tried to insert the cards, they stayed crooked and didn't seat properly. The full-size reader worked great. You can use the USB-C port on the hub for power delivery, so you can connect your charger to this port and then connect the hub to your laptop to charge it. However, it charges your device slowly. So if you only have one USB-C port for charging, it's not that useful. HDMI works well with a zero setting, as do other USB-A ports. I have other microSD card readers so it's not a big problem.
