Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Gates 91132 Krikit V-Ribbed Belt Tension Gauge: Perfect Tool for Precise Belt Tension Measurement by Allan Duman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This worked perfectly for changing the belts on my 2004 Nissan Pathfinder.

This was perfect for changing the belt on my 2004 Nissan Pathfinder LE. My straps have squeaked a bit for the past 3 years and it's been one of the things I've always wanted to touch. I finally settled on it after the squeaking got worse. There were no YouTube videos available for my model or engine, but everything looked pretty basic and was easier than expected. You end up accessing everything under the car and working with a belt around the fan. I checked the old belts before removing them. They didn't even check the tester, it clicked under 100 pounds. This wasn't a surprise as I knew they squeaked and dangled. belt changed. used a gauge to strain them. I read somewhere that you need to run the engine for 5 minutes and then repeat the test. I did this and found I had to tighten them a bit. checked twice later that day after the belts had cooled again. Perfect suspense so far. My belts required over 200 pounds of tension, so this version of the tester did the job. For under 100lbs you need a different version as stated by other reviewers. I highly recommend getting this tool for your collection. Very good price and much smaller than other testers.
