Things I would like to know in advance. This is a cute little box perfect for my 6 year old mermaid's treasures. after the packaging plastic has been removed. He just stayed open. I tried, but installing the hinge didn't allow it. So I gave in and bought a mini latch for it and it was a nice upgrade. Then I realized how important some kind of pen is. Luckily for me it drilled well and I was able to make two holes in the top and thread the cord through. Painted well. We did an ocean theme which meant mixing colors and adding a few colors. The colors are well absorbed and have not yet peeled off. We were also able to add foam stickers and they hold up. We were also able to use hot glue without any problems. I'm thinking of gluing the felt to the inner (or maybe outer) sole. Things slide easily on a smooth surface.
