Review on Gates TCK286 Timing Belt Component by Jaye Cleveland

I bought a Gates TCK286 timing belt kit for a 2002 Honda Odyssey. The kit includes timing belt, idler pulley and idler pulley. Both idler pulleys turned out to be exactly the same as the factory ones I removed. In fact, Gates appears to be supplying the idler pulleys to Honda. Everything fit and fit perfectly. Everything looks very high quality. I replaced these parts on my minivan at 110,000 miles. If you are unsure whether to just replace the belt or the pulleys, I can tell you that the 2 pulleys I removed from the van at 110,000 miles had about 1/16 of an inch of side play. I recommend replacing the pulleys along with the belt. I also replaced the water pump with a Gates brand pump.
