Review on ASUS VG279Q1R Gaming Monitor - 1080P, 144Hz Refresh Rate, Tilt Adjustment, Built-In Speakers, Blue Light Filter by Tommy Tubbs

I'm not here to write a long detailed review of this monitor. To be honest my views on this are very similar to most of these 5, 4 and 3 star reviews! Really good monitor, it articulates well, cool features blah blah blah. I'm here to talk about the sound quality of the monitor's built-in speakers. I bought it as a second monitor for my setup. When I'm not using it for my computer, I switch video sources to use for console gaming. The picture quality is wonderful! Offers precise settings and presets here and there. However, the sound that goes through the speakers. leaves a lot to be desired. For example, it feels like I'm hearing it while some kind of radio effect is applied to it. My ears feel like the sound is coming out of a plastic cup. It's so awful, to be honest. And it's literal too. The volume is so intensely flat! Beautiful compositions, ambient sounds created with love and care, and perfect sound effects with the most penetrating feelings. it's all shattered, knocked down and trampled on by the TERRIBLE quality of this monitor's speakers. I need to buy real speakers to solve this problem. My final thoughts: a really good monitor worth buying. However, if you're looking for a monitor with built-in speakers, this might not be the monitor for you.
