Another nuance is the strange work of application scaling. An application written for a 16:9 screen format is displayed at the top of our wide (18:9) screen, with buttons displayed at the bottom. (before (on G4, G5) the buttons were hidden) In the settings there is an item "Scaling applications", in which you can specify those applications that need to be stretched to full screen. You can specify only those applications that you installed yourself, for example, pre-installed YouTube is not displayed in this list, which means that a standard 16: 9 video from YouTube will be displayed with black margins at the edges of the frame, and it will not be possible to expand it. When you scale the application, the phone honestly writes that some of its contents (left and right) can be partially cropped. The app picture does look a little bigger than usual, but the strangest thing is that the buttons are still displayed at the bottom of the screen and cover up another part of the app picture. I watched s8 on the showcase - youtube scales exactly there, and right from the application. LG must-haves must complete this, otherwise it is not clear why this wide screen is needed at all.
