Installs in 2017 Ram with Liner and Extang 2.0 Solid Cover. Used metal scissors to cut out a small piece of lining but was able to install right through. A Dremel tool works well if you want a cleaner look. Follow the instructions and assembling the extender will be pretty easy. The rods are pre-punched with drill points, eliminating the need for cardboard templates. There are 6 holes in total and the staples go straight. Ideal for hard covers. Adjust the handles so the cover falls between the extension and the edge of the bed leaving more than enough room to snap the cover into place for use. In addition, if necessary, it is very easy to remove the extension cord. An interesting feature is that the included straps actually snap into a latch on the tailgate. Just lift the tailgate handle to turn them off. It shouldn't be a problem to carry this over to a newer truck in the future.
