Review on 🔒 PL5412 Blue Ribbon Metallic Manual Tailgate Lock for Toyota Tacoma with BOLT Codeable – Pop & Lock by Chris Palmer

I recently had a wheeled truck cover that locked on the tailgate but still allowed the tailgate to open. I bought this Pop & Lock to convert the back of a truck into a closed trunk when the lid is closed. I watched several videos on uTube about the installation (one linked to the Revain browser along with more detailed installation instructions) and it installed in less than 30 minutes. This lock offers the ability to encode each key to lock/unlock, but you can only encode the key once. I used my truck's ignition key and tried to follow the instructions to code it. According to the instructions, to adjust it, you had to turn the key clockwise well past the 6 o'clock position and then turn it counterclockwise to 12 o'clock. Mine only moved to about the 3 o'clock position and I had to turn it clockwise past the 12 o'clock position to adjust it. At first I thought I did something wrong, but it works. It locks when I turn the key clockwise at about 2 o'clock and unlocks when I turn the key counter-clockwise at about 11 o'clock. I also have a rear view camera on the tailgate latch which supports this product by removing the tap to insert the camera and then attaching it. Now I have a secure area on the truck bed, with the lid closed and the new tailgate latch locked, I couldn't be happier.
