I bought these because I felt I didn't want to cut holes in my pickup, this is my first brand new truck. I was hoping that for the price they would be genuine and they met and exceeded my expectations. Just remove the cap from the factory and they are easy to install when you feel comfortable. I suspect you do when you buy them. One thing to watch out for and not get frustrated with is when installing them make sure they are seated in the hole and the components are properly aligned. Otherwise the truss rod will not retract to the right. But once you've got it installed, you'll be able to feel it snap right into place. The support bars are spring loaded so when installed correctly all you have to do is apply a little pressure to them and they will slide back into the bed. Another handy feature and the reason I bought them in the first place is that I got tired of the zip ties coming loose from the factory hook when I tried to tighten it, but when you plug the hook in you can push it back in and holds the hook in place while you move to the other side of the pickup to tighten it.
