Review on Tire Michelin Primacy 3 215/55 R18 99V by Micha ukasiewicz

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The quality was generally satisfied, there were minor shortcomings.

For a little over a month, I tested two diametrically opposed sets of summer tires on my car. Subaru Impreza car (150 hp), I drive carefully, but quickly. After the winter, I wanted to install Bridgestone, but I was confused by the reviews that it was oak, it was necessary to heat it, etc. I decided to try Michelin Primacy 3 205/55 R16, which were positioned as quieter, more comfortable (and lighter). Put. Quiet (after the old winter Gislaved Nord Frost 5) they did not seem to me. Ordinary. Comfortable too. The car is stiff, and all the bumps were felt, as before. Didn't like anything else. Soft sidewall - higher rolling resistance. This is felt in the corners and when changing lanes. The amplitude of the steering action is greater than when driving on harder rubber. Track feels great, grip at a speed of 120-130 was insufficient for me. When braking from a high speed, there was no feeling of a uniform distribution of the braking force, I had to “brake” more sharply. There was an impression that the wheels were slightly "lathered". I attributed all this to the low temperature of the asphalt, although it was mid-April. The pressure was checked with an accurate pressure gauge, there was no pumping. The last straw was the "hernia" after hitting a pothole at a speed of about 40 Km / h. The blow was strong enough, so the hernia did not surprise me. I figured out how much more I could "catch" over the summer, and the next day I changed my shoes to Bridgestone Potenza. Looking ahead, I will say that the rubber is amazing. It seems to me that Michelin is not very good for Japanese cars, with average soundproofing and stiff suspension. Noise will still be, and bumps will be felt, there are no more pluses. In addition, the risk of getting a hernia is quite high. And Primacy 3 does not have any hint of sportiness, so that they do not write about it. Normal high quality city tires.

Pros
  • Have not found
Cons
  • weak sidewall, very "tender rubber"
