DPR 1260 SUCKS: Computers and Accessories

I have a small office with five networked computers; I'm also a dedicated D-Link user with a significant investment in D-Link gear. I decided to purchase the DRP-1260 to network with Brother laser printers after reading reviews both on Revain and elsewhere. B. be a D-Link DPR 1260. It was easy to set up if you followed the instructions, but after a month one of our computers, which sometimes uses an external VPN network, cloned the DPR 1260 as an exchange server to fix the main i/p address changed in the router. However, it was not possible to delete the exchange server information on the print server, not a big problem as everything was still working. Two months later, DPR 1260 started crashing for no reason, the only way to fix this is to reboot the system. Six A few months after purchasing the DPR 1260, rebooting became a daily practice, then my DIR 635 router died, so I replaced the router with a DIR 655, but couldn't "see" the DPR 1260 anymore. So I replaced the DPR 1260 with a new one. , the installation was easy again. Three days after installing the DPR 1260 it failed, no matter what I did it didn't last more than a few minutes so two options, open the window and the DPR 1260 Frisbee or your money back, the dollar prevailed and I took that Way back. Conclusion: Based on my experience in the electronics industry, I'm guessing that testing print servers with an OEM printer is maybe a 72-hour soak test before it's considered "working". . What I'm really saying is that a print server vendor's "trial phase" DOESN'T HAVE to; Unfortunately, the industry is under a lot of pressure to bring the product to market and of course the consumer is suffering. Looking at print server reviews, it seems that none of them have a good reliability record, so a print server should only be considered if the budget doesn't allow for an OEM-designed network printer. However please consider the logistics, in my case it would end up being significantly cheaper to buy an OEM network printer, that is the route I have taken now with the purchase of the Brother HL-2170W printers, and to this day everything works PERFECTLY. Excuse me. D-Link I still love all of your products but the DPR 1260 sucks.
