Review on ๐Ÿชš 2 Inch (50mm) Hook and Loop Sanding Pad: 5 Pack with 1/4 Inches Shank Drill Attachment and Soft Foam Layer Buffering Pad by Pete Door

Pretty good, not great

The mandrel is pretty good and I like how the bezel attaches to it as a separate piece. If the pad needs to be replaced, you don't have to replace the entire mandrel. The arbors I used to sharpen the lathe bowl have a bonded pad. The pad is usually where it fails and tears, which is effectively the end of the mandrel. The pad on what I used is a harder sponge material that is much stronger than the sponge pads in this product. I like the firm padding material better than the soft sponge that comes with it. If I can't find a stiffer lining, I make one as I've done in the past, revising my old style. I use the rigid foam that the garden lap stand is made of (hot glue on the spike) and attach the necessary velcro. I cut them out on a band saw.
